Creative Technology

Kia ora bloggers, yesterday we started to finish off our wakas with Mr E. I was really excited because I hadn’t seen Mr E in two weeks. Once Mr E let us go in his class he told us all the rules and safety hazards, to remind us. The most challenging thing for me was to remember all the instructions that Mr E gave us because I would forget everything he told us what to do. The easiest part for me was cut out the wood because I was very good at controlling the power tools. This was really fun but next time I need to improve my listening skills and try to remember more instructions next time.I only have a little more finish and it's only the paddles for the waka. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, blog you later.

Have you ever made a Waka in technology?

Have you ever been to technology?

Ultra Kawa of Care

Last week my class was learning about the kawa of Care because sometimes we would forget about Kawa of Care, if you don't know what kawa of care is, it’s how to look after your Chromebook properly. We had to explain how to look after your Chromebook in a DLO. We also had to write down information of the rules we have to follow in order for us to follow the kawa of care.  My group thought it was really challenging to think of and ideas because there were lots of great ideas to write about.  It was really fun because you could work with a buddy when making  presentation about kawa of care.  Here is a link to me and my friends screencastify. I hope you enjoyed my post!

Have you ever made a kawa of care DLO?

Mind blowing Food Web

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about food webs. When we were doing food webs we had to use arrow because the arrow are explaining what the consumers eats . Also here's a explanation:  I think the arrows are explaining what gets eaten. If the arrow was coming from a tui to a plant then that means the plant is eating the Tui so it should be the other way. So the arrows are a  to be ponting from the plant to the Tui. When the Tui eats the plant the Tui gets energy, because the plant is just energy. The hardest thing for me was thinking where the arrow go. But once I got the hang of it, it was easy. Also I made a good drawing for the food web. Hope you enjoyed my post.

I learnt about food webs in my class, have you?

Warning Tsunami

Kia ora bloggers. Last Friday was very horrific for me because there was some tsunami warnings.  On Friday I was late to school but when my dad dropped me off at the office I saw Mrs Lindsay.  Mrs Lindsay looked very scared, but I was very happy I saw her because I didn’t hear about the tsunami. Mrs lindsay told me to tell my dad that we needed to go home and get everyone.  Once we were on the hill  at Te Haumi we started to call family members to see if they were safe.  I was terrified because this was my first ever time being told that a tsunami was coming.

How was your Tsunami Evacuation?

Ultra T-Ball

Kia ora bloggers, yesterday Whaea Keasy came back to play T-Ball with us. Whaea Keasy is really talented at T-ball and Softball. My team did really well because we got the most points and played very fairly. The hardest thing for me was hitting the ball out of the air because the pitcher throws the ball into the air and we have to hit the ball. I hope you enjoyed reading my blog post and have you play T-Ball or SoftBall?

Awesome Te Reo Maori

Kia ora bloggers. A few days ago my group started to make an animation for a Te reo Maori weather forecast. We started to make the script in week 2 term 4. The easiest part was to make the script because we got help from our teacher Whaea Chrissy. The hardest part was to learn how to say the Maori words because it’s hard for me to say some words. Have you ever made a Te Reo weather forecast?

Ultra Athletics

Kia ora bloggers, last week my school started to practice for athletics day. I liked the first couple of days because I did sprints and relays. I think the hardest part for me was versing the fastest people in my group. I was one of the fastest people in my group, but I thought I was going to be very slow but I wasn’t. Athletics is very fun because you can do different events, like high jump, long jump and shot put.

AWESOME FISHING DAY!

Kia ora bloggers, in the holidays my dad and I went fishing. We went to go fish at the Waitangi Golf Course, we caught a 14 pound kingy. It was really hard to pull in, but my dad tried his hardest because we hadn’t caught a fish at all that day. My dad said it was a shark because how it was fighting, plus the kingy was really big. Once my dad pulled the kingfish in he told me to get a knife and stab it so we could have it for dinner.

Have you ever caught a 14 pound kingy?

Awesome Cross Country

Kia ora Bloggers, yesterday my class was practicing for Cross Country. I think Cross Country will be fun because we can run around and be free. I think the year 7 and year 8 students will get the hardest run because we have to run up a steep hill and run back down the hill. It will be easier running down the hill because we have more speed running. The most challenging thing will be running around the field and running up the hill without stopping. The hardest thing for me in practices, is running without stopping around the whole school. I hope you enjoyed this blog!

Have you ever run a whole Cross Country without stopping?

Awesome Music Lab

Kia ora bloggers, last week we went on this new site called Chrome Music Lab. Chrome Music Lab helps us write songs and all sorts of sounds, you will notice once you try it out. It was really fun to play with because it was something new that we were learning to do. First, we tried out rhythm. Then, we went on to different levels like song maker, spectrogram and sound waves. It was kind of hard to play with “Chrome Music Lab” because we weren’t able to pick anything to try out and the teacher picked the lessons we tried first. I recommend you try it out with other people and play around on this site. Here's a link to the Chrome Music Lab

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, and have a good day!

Have you ever tried this site before?

Ultra Wonder project

Kia ora bloggers a few day ago my class watched some movies that we all made. I think it was fun to make a movie for the first time because we had fun and learnt. I learnt to always bring the same clothes because my group kept on changing clothes and it looked funny.

Ultra Wonder project

Kia ora bloggers a few days ago we  were doing The Wonder Project. My group had to launch because we hadn’t launched in one week and I was really excited to launch because we put on new fins. When we launched we used 55 PSI which is air pressure and the water level was 220mls. The launch was incredible because my group set a new record for the furthest launch and it went 66.6 metres. The hardest thing was to put the wings on the rocket and you needed two people to help put the wings on the rocket. Hope you enjoyed this Blog post!

Have you ever made a bottle rocket?

Wonder project

Kia ora bloggers, we have done The Wonder Project. If you don’t know what The Wonder Project is, it is when some scientists from Auckland University come into our classroom  and tell us about how to make a rocket. We need to get a couple of 1.5 litre bottles so we can make a rocket. The materials we need are going to need are, an empty plastic bottle, cardboard (to make four fins), a cork, a pump with a needle adapter and enough water. I learnt that you always have to wear safety gear and stand back several metres, just incase something happens.  Hope you have a good day, thanks for checking my post.  Then it would look like this

  The Wonder people names are.

Awesome Cross Country

Kia ora today we did some PE, we had to run at a pace we could keep for 20 minutes We are practicing because of our cross country that we have to do in a couple weeks. I did a lot of laps but I got tired so fast. It was very fun because I was trying to run up to my friends who were in front of me. I didn’t stop at all. I was challenging  myself to do over 15 laps, but I only did 13 laps. I was still happy with that.

How far can you run without stopping?
