Oral Hygiene

Kia Ora, today I will be doing a blog post about Oral Hygiene DLO. In this DLO  we are writing about brushing our teeth to keep our teeth clean. I learnt that we should brush our teeth in a circle motion. I also learnt you have to brush your teeth every night and morning because it will be healthier for your teeth. What I could do better is brush my teeth in a circle motion.

Kapa haka

On September the 19, the Paihia School kapa haka group went to Kaikohe Memorial hall  to perform in the Cultural Festival. I was learning to focus on singing and facials, making sure I was smiling and doing a strong pukana. We went with parents, Teaches and teacher aids that supported us. When we went on stage I got scared because there was so much people watching us and cheering. After a couple of minutes, I didn’t have stage fright because I focused on singing. When we were doing the haka with  our rakau I made some mistakes because some of my timing was too early when we poked our rakau to the side. Once we got off the stage I was so happy because I think we all did good performing in front of other schools. SEE YOU IN THE NEXT BLOG POST.

Story beats

Today I’m writing about ‘story beats’. If you don’t know what story beats are it’s planning
how you are going to lay out your story. Here is an example of a story beat.
Once upon a time...
Every day….
Until one day...
Because of that...
Because of that...
Because of that...
Because of that...
Until finally...
And ever since then….
The moral of the story is…
The beats are like the bones of the story and then I flesh out the rest to make a body of writing.Once upon a time I opened a fortnite account. Every day I played fortnite for a long time and sometimes got frustrated. Until one day I got so angry I threw my controller. Because of that it didn’t work properly. Because of that I got more frustrated.Because of that I broke my controller more. Until finally it wouldn't work at all. Ever since then I have been asking my papa for a new controller but he knows how I broke my first one. The moral of the story is look after what you have because you might not get it again. In story beats it is easier to plan your story and write down the stuff you know and that has happened, BYE!!!

Character dimensions

Today I am writing about character dimensions. Character dimensions
are things about a person. First their appearance, how they look.
Second their history, fears and dreams. Finally who they really are;
choices, needs and desires.
For example; Appearance, “he wears a blue T-shirt, black shoes,
green jacket and he has hair all over his face”. Backstory is number
two.
To explain, my fears are spiders and heights but I don’t  want anyone
to know my weaknesses. Dimension three is their decisions, needs
and wants. Who they really are. I am going to show that by explaining
about
Mr  Twit. He thought that if he had hair he could look like a strong
man. Mr Twit doesn’t want to clean his brush. He didn’t want to ever
shave his hair on his face because he wanted to grow a lot of hair.
We are learning this because in t-shaped we had to write
about people and what we think their dimensions are. The easiest
the
part for me was writing down the description of dimension one.
The other two are much harder to work out.

Cross Country

BLOG POST Date: Monday,September 2, 2019 Writing: On Friday the 30th of August it was the School Cross Country. First thing in the morning we played and had morning tea. Then we had to go and get our stuff, like our bags, shoes and water,we had to sit down on the floor outside. We couldn’t talk because one of my teacher was calling out the kids who were going with parents helping transport children. We had to wait there for half an hour!! When we all got to Bledisloe we all put are bags on the tarp and had some food at the shelter. I got one thing to eat before the race, it was a hot dog and I was full. It was a long time waiting for my race so we ran around playing and got tired and told off. Finally when it was our time to race we got ready and a teacher counted down from three and said “Go!” We all ran around the sports field, a paddock and then up a hill to one of my teachers, Wheae Becks, and there was a sign that showed us where to turn around. We all ran down the hill faster and I hurt my ankle. It was a long way and I walked some of the track. The place that I came was seventh out of the 14 other kids. My friends Shay and Reminisce came first and second. It was a good day out.
