Smarty Smart Surfing

Kia ora bloggers, yesterday my Class were learning about Smart Surfing. Smart surfing means you only use keywords when you are searching something up on Google. You do this because if you write “how fast is a cheetah” on Google, Google will give you every page that has the words “how, is, a” and might not even give you something about Cheetahs. So you just need to write “Cheetah running speed” because those are the keywords. Then you will get the real answer you want because Google is looking for the words “Cheetah, running and speed” which is the actual thing you want to come up. This was really fun learning about because now I know how to find the best answer for anything I want to find on Google.

Has your teacher ever taught you about Smart Surfing?

Coastal Seas

Kia ora bloggers, yesterday my Class watch a video of Our Planet about Sea Creatures, Oceans and the Planet. The director of the show is David Attenborough, he is an inspiring person to watch because he explains what actually happens in the Ocean. I learnt lots about the White Tipped Reef Shark and what it does, Here some facts my group & I found about the White Tipped Reef Sharks.

Facts: The White Tipped Shark are 1 of 440 species in the world. They have relentlessly kept being caught and their population reduced by 90 percent. They also let little fish called wrasse clean their teeth by plucking off the gunk.  These sharks prefer to hunt in the dark rather than the day.

We also found some facts about the Wrasse and what it does in the Ocean. Here are some facts:Wrasse are a very small fish that clean the sharks teeth. Wrasse are practically their pet; they follow the shark nearly everywhere they go. If they have the feeling that there teeth need to be cleaned they would just open their mouth and the wrasse will clean the sharks mouth. Have you ever watch David Attenborough? Heres my DLO

M.I.F Math is fun

Kia ora bloggers, Today I was learning about adding and subtracting decimals.  At first I didn’t know what to do until my teacher explained what we were doing. The main strategy was to use addition & decimals. We were allowed to use algorithms to solve the questions because it was helping my group. The best strategy for me was decimals, additions & algorithms. These are the best strategies for me because decimals helped me to solve these questions faster. The easiest part for me was to solve the question because the questions were just decimals about additions.

Have you ever used these math strategies?
